About the CCE Certification

To obtain the CCE, an individual must not only possess a minimum amount of real world experience and book knowledge but must pass a series of practical exercise examinations. Unlike many vendor offered forensic certification exams, the ISFCE administered practical examinations are tool neutral. In fact the CCE certification is often considered one of the highest level vendor neutral forensic certifications. Only after successfully passing four examinations with an average that is higher than the minimum score required to pass any one examination, is a candidate eligible for approval by the Certification Board to beome certified as a Certified Computer Examiner (CCE).

Given the rigor and level of expertise needed to attain the CCE, it is not surprising that with the first awarded certification assigned to a candidate in 2003, as of 2019, there remain fewer than 900 active CCE certifications worldwide.
